Game Boy Advance Restoration & Build Workshop
Participants will be given a broken Game Boy Advance motherboard and guided through the full repair process — learning how to diagnose faults, solder components, and bring a dead board back to life.
Once the motherboard is working, we'll build a fully modern GBA: IPS backlit screen, custom shell, and all new internals. Every participant takes home their completed, fully playable Game Boy Advance.
Note: Lunch is not provided. Please bring your own food and drinks for both days.

About Your Teacher: Satyen Prasad
I'm a rising junior at Bellarmine College Prep. I've been soldering since age 12 and am a member of the Bellarmine combat robotics team. In the last four years, I have modded / hacked the PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4, 3DS, Wii U, DSi, Game Boy, N64, Wii, Dreamcast and other consoles. Last year I turned a broken Lenovo Thinkpad X220 into a lightning fast modern Linux workstation. In my spare time, I have built a Raspberry Pi powered Gameboy, adapters for Nintendo Switch, coded a personal Gameboy color game, built custom keyboards, as well as industrial-grade trackers for my dad's company.
I'm a proud member of the Los Gatos Rowing Club. With the club, I have won numerous first-place and second-place medals for U17 quads and eights, both locally and regionally.
I started the Bellarmine Retro Tech Club to create a larger community of people who are passionate about electronics. In this summer class, I'm looking forward to teaching younger students electronics skills, as well as inspiring them to develop their own hands-on projects.
